Japanese Terminology

Red Dragon Traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu is a true combat form. It is not a sport.  It was developed and used by unarmed samurai warriors to survive on the battlefield  It is quick, effective, and deadly.

No one art can claim to be the best for all practitioners, but Ju-Jitsu has been noted as "the most effective means of self-defense for the majority of people."

Ju-Jitsu is based on the following:

• Effective joint locking and immobilization techniques.
• Techniques applied using basic circular movements.  
• Using the force and speed of the attacker's assault against him.

The essential principle of Ju-Jitsu is to conquer an enemy using any and all means available with minimal force. A Ju-Jitsuan must be able to judge the force of an attack and use it against the attacker.

Ju-Jitsu focusses on:

· Body mechanics · Timing · Momentum · Balance

Our students are trained to respond with the minimal force necessary to control the situation.

A person skilled in Ju-Jitsu may subdue and immobilize an attacker without causing any injury, or by modifying their response, may cause permanent injury or even death.

We offer many programs for adults and children.

Ju-Jitsu Students must be 16 years old before enrolling in Traditional Combat Ju-Jitsu classes.
	Judo We offer Judo for Children and Young Adults. Judo was developed from Ju-Jitsu and offers techniques better suited to young people. Our children's program focuses on developing self-confidence, discipline, safety and awareness.
Little Dragons Our brand new preschool program introduces children to the basics of martial arts. We concentrate on developing confidence, focus and basic motor skills.

Private Classes are available

Red Dragon Ju-Jitsu is a member of the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation and the United States Judo Association

All of our students receive internationally recognized rank certification.   Although we are a traditional school, our students have the opportunity to compete in National and International Competition.  

The United States Ju-Jitsu Federation is The Governing Body for Ju-Jitsu in the United States of America.

It is through this organization that our students are presented with the opportunity to participate in the World Games!
